Grad.Ed degrees no longer valid for TCT PTL

The Teacher’s Council of Thailand has made a decision that the one year Grad.Ed courses are no longer valid for qualifying applicant’s for the Professional Teacher’s License in Thailand. The decision was a shock to many people who expected to take that route to earn their PTL. Now the only viable pathways are to have a degree (Bachelor or greater) in Education, have a valid, recognized teaching credential from another country, or pass all nine modules (four tests in English) on the TCT exams. It seems that every time you blink becoming a fully licensed, professional teacher in Thailand is becoming more elusive for many.
